Nope, you don’t!  Hahahaha this is just a JENNFRED sized warning that this week some of you… ladies too are going to be SCREWED.  Have you even looked a the calendar ? The week is packed with days where we have to show love and I am not so sure you guys or girls are ready…

MONDAY – MELANOMA MONDAY

TRICKED YOU !!

No need to do anything else than put on some SPF. Everyday, even if you are inside or driving in a car all day … melanoma is no freaking joke. WEAR SUNSCREEN PLEASE

TUESDAY: TEACHER APPRECIATION DAY AND CINCO DE MAYO’

Let’s start with TEACHER APPRECIATION DAY.. Some of my favorite people are teachers.  Also, I am in classrooms several times a month as part of my TV job, so, I know these teachers love your kids.  Even the rotten kids … haha.

This year it will harder than ever to show some love SO START THINKING NOW about what you are going to do for them.  Word on the street is they just want to be loved and appreciated… start there and everything will be great. Emails, texts and gift cards should be crafted early so you have them ready to send first thing Tuesday morning.

CINCO DE MAYOR it falls on a Tuesday. Than means Tacos and Tequila for everyone.  You are staying at home anyway so I suggest a liberal pour and an early start to the festivities. ( see why I want you to plan ahead for the Teacher day ? You might be ‘distracted’ by early afternoon)

You can find a regular Margarita recipe anywhere, but, I love one that is both spicy and unique … THESUBURBANSOAPBOX.COM has some great CINCO DE MAYO recipes.

KELLIE’S PINEAPPLE MARGARITA  is no freaking joke.  If you are married to a teacher… this might be a great Tuesday kickoff for you.

 

WEDNESDAY: NURSES APPRECIATION DAY  ( Told you it was a busy week)

During the Covid-19 crisis we have seen the true grit of these men and women.  We have also seen that they are trying to have a little bit of fun.  If you have a Nurse in your neighborhood, take them a meal or just write them a thank you note.  There is a project where people are making blue hearts and posting them in windows… we did that at my house and it felt great.

We love saying thank you to our Hero’s and of course the military is a huge group of rockstars soooo… I could not leave out …

FRIDAY: MILITARY SPOUSE APPRECIATION DAY

Remember when a member of the military puts themselves on the line … an entire family is sacrificing. The spouses are the ones left behind to do ‘ double duty’ at school events, surgeries and major family celebrations.

SUNDAY IS MOTHER’S DAY

Sunday: MOTHER’S DAY

This year will obviously be different. But, I will say Mom will want to be recognized in some way.  Here at home I have been receiving ‘spa treatments’ weekly.

Plus, my kids have been willing to go for walks and ‘play golf’ with me in the backyard. (I am forcing them to do all kinds of crap) This is what I think we will remember most about Covid Quaratine.

SO PLEASE DON’T SCREW IT UP !!  Yes, I could send you ideas and lists of stuff to buy, but, this year it will be a super low key day… and that’s FINE. ( UHHHH if you are rich send me a plane and a yacht … yes, I deserve BOTH)

Get the kids cooking, cleaning and drawing something great to give Mom.  This year more than ever I DO NOT WANT to hear ” you’re not my Mom why am I getting you a gift” from the Dads who have young children.  GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER GUYS!!

Kids are useful, get them brainstorming now to prevent a MONSTER MOTHER’S DAY MELTDOWN.

I LOVE MY KIDS VERY MUCH. They made me a Mom … they are the best gifts I have ever received. Yes, even then they refuse to do what I say…

Bottom line, don’t forget Mother’s Day is a week from today, OK?
